Alakazam is here to help you locate original social media content from short-form clips, with little context of the source video.
The intended use is for you to share a link with the Alakazam app whenever you want to find the original video a clip was taken from. You can paste or share links from YouTube.
YouTube links do not have to be Shorts. A ten-minute clip is often itself an excerpt of a much longer podcast or interview, and Alakazam will look for that longer video too.
The aim is for Alakazam to point you directly to the exact piece of content you are looking for, but please note that Alakazam is very much still a work in progress - and the results are not always correct.
Searching requires an Alakazam Premium subscription, available monthly or yearly. New monthly subscribers get a free trial first; the length and the price are both shown on the purchase screen before you commit. A subscription includes a set number of searches per day, and the App shows you how many you have left.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. To cancel, open Settings on your device, tap your name, then Subscriptions — the same place you manage every other App Store subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.
Apple takes the payment, not us, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you already paid on another device or reinstalled the App, use Restore on the purchase screen to get your subscription back.
