Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Alakazam application ("App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the App.
The App is provided by Luma, the trading name of Rasmus Linnemann, an independent developer based in Copenhagen, Denmark ("we", "us", or "our"). Luma is a trading name rather than a registered company, so these Terms are an agreement between you and Rasmus Linnemann personally, trading as Luma.

By downloading, installing, or using the Alakazam App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age — or older, if the country you live in sets a higher age for agreeing to online services on your own — and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Alakazam is a video discovery application that helps you find the original, full-length video a short clip was taken from. You may submit a link to a YouTube video of any length, Shorts included; results are YouTube videos, found using the YouTube API Services.
Alakazam is in an early stage of development. It will not always find the right video, and sometimes it will find none at all. Results are suggestions, not statements of fact, and you should check them before relying on them.
Alakazam uses the YouTube API Services to provide video search and discovery features. By using Alakazam, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
You can review the YouTube Terms of Service at youtube.com/t/terms. Your use of YouTube content and services through Alakazam is subject to those terms.
Alakazam accepts links from YouTube. YouTube is operated by a third party and is governed by its own terms, which apply to you independently of these Terms — see the YouTube section above.
By submitting a link, you confirm that the content is publicly accessible and that you are permitted to share the link with us. Alakazam retrieves publicly available details about the clip in order to search for its source; it does not download, store, or redistribute the video or audio, and it does not give you access to anything you could not already view on the platform itself.
Alakazam is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube, Google, or any other platform or rights holder. All product names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
You need an account to use the App, created by signing in with Google or with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that sign-in secure, and for what happens under your account. Tell us at the address below if you think someone else is using it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile → Delete account. What we erase and what we keep is set out in our Privacy Policy.

The App is free to download, but it is not free to use. Apart from the free trial described below, an active subscription is required to run searches — there is no free allowance. Every search costs us money in third-party services, and the subscription is what pays for it.
We sell Alakazam Premium as an auto-renewing subscription, on a monthly and on a yearly plan. A subscription includes a set number of searches per day; the App shows you how many you have left and when the allowance refills, and we may change that number as the cost of running the service changes. The price of each plan in your own currency is shown in the App before you buy anything. Prices differ between countries.
The monthly plan is offered with a free trial to subscribers who have not had one before. Its length is shown on the purchase screen before you commit. Whether you are eligible is decided by Apple, once per Apple ID per subscription group. If you buy a subscription while a trial is running, the unused part of the trial is forfeited.
Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, the subscription renews and your Apple ID is charged for the next period at the price then shown. You can cancel at any time from Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not cut short the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period ends.
If we raise the price of a plan you are subscribed to, Apple will ask you to agree to the new price. If you do not agree, the subscription simply does not renew.
Every purchase is made through Apple. Apple is the seller and takes the payment — we never see or handle your card or your Apple ID — and your purchase is also governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
For the same reason, refunds are handled by Apple and we cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Do still write to us at support@alakazamapp.com if something has gone wrong — we can fix anything that is ours to fix, and we would rather hear about it.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital content. A subscription to Alakazam gives you access immediately, so by buying one you ask us to begin straight away and you accept that you lose that right of withdrawal once we have. This does not affect your rights if the service turns out to be faulty or not as described, and Apple's refund process above is the practical route to your money back either way.
We do not promise that the App will be available uninterrupted, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. Where a change would materially reduce what the App does for you, we will give you reasonable notice unless we cannot for legal or security reasons. What happens to a subscription if we discontinue the App is set out under "Suspension and Termination" below.
All content referenced within Alakazam is owned by its respective creators and remains subject to YouTube's own terms. The Alakazam name, logo, and original application code are owned by us.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms.
If you are a rights holder and believe that content referenced or cached by Alakazam infringes your rights, contact us at the address below with: the material you are complaining about and where in the App it appears, how we can reach you, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We will review it and remove the relevant cached data promptly.
Creators who simply want their public content out of our cache do not need to make a legal claim — see "Content Creator Data Requests" in our Privacy Policy.
The following applies because you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, and Apple requires it:
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any result it returns is the correct one. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement under the law of the country where you live.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your mandatory rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within it. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — only Apple can do that, so cancel it in your device settings first, or you will keep being charged for a service you can no longer reach.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. If we terminate your access for a reason that is not your fault, or if we discontinue the App altogether while you hold a subscription, we will help you obtain a refund from Apple for any period you have paid for and cannot use.
If we discontinue the App altogether, we will give reasonable notice so that you can export or delete anything you want to keep, and we will stop selling new subscriptions before we stop running the service.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where the change materially affects your rights, inside the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the App and delete your account.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the App, are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law principles.
If you use the App as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and it does not affect your right to bring proceedings there.
